May Transition Cafe

by | May 28, 2026 | Blog | 0 comments

In May we had an amazing group of speakers who talked about the work they are doing to create climate resilience. We heard about guerilla gardeners taking the initiative and just setting themselves up in a disused garden to create a space for local people to enjoy and grow food and Flowers.

We also heard about two amazing local farms, Owl and Lizard and Kindling Community farm. Both are growing organic local food.

Jay Hampton talked about her work developing a seed bank for the future.

Pictures and more information is below.

Climate Cafe

Climate Cafe 21st May 2026

The climate café was space where people’s fears and uncertainties about our climate crisis were expressed in a group setting. It was set up like an experience in a cafe. Sandwiches, cakes and drinks were provided. Twelve people attended to share their emotional response to unfolding climate breakdown.

Climate Cafes are being held in response to the challenging nature of the content of “The People’s Climate Emergency Briefing” Film.

The event was a joint venture between people from the People’s Climate Emergency Briefing team, Transition Liverpool and Liverpool Quaker Meeting.
